Poor kid.

Thorton’s tale has been tricky to write, certainly moreso than Ophelia’s or Gareth’s. I’d ramble more about today’s page, but I figure I’ll just keep shut and see what you guys have to say. Thorton’s tale ends on Tuesday, when Lukov finally enters the story and Elias leaves it.

Go vote! No new vote incentive yet, but you can see how happy Young Thorton was with his family before it all went to hell.

As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, next week marks the one year Anniversary of Clockworks. I’m making a big deal out of it, because I can. I’m shooting to finish 3 comics next week, and there will be blogs and guest art every single day. There will be cool and exciting news, and a bit of a site revamp. I’m even going to broadcast Saturday’s anniversary party/art show for those of you who live far from St. Louis. We kick things off on Monday with a guest blog by Chuck Wendig and an incredible pinup by Douang Khamsitthisack.
So, come back every day next week, tell your friends, and get ready for several more years of comics.

Woo! Looking forward to the comic b-day celebrations!
I don’t want Elias to “leave” the story!
Though, I’m sure that’s how Thorton ends up with Elias’s bow, so I’m sure it has to happen.
Spoiler! (from a year ago.)

Yay anniversary! Can I expect to see that player quickstart that you mentioned coming this week?
I’d love to, but unless I clone myself this weekend, it is unlikely. I’ll take a look at it tonight and see if I can get something finished.
It’s very nice that the 100th comic falls on the week of the one year anniversary.
I love the panel with the boat. Great work
Yeah, that’s why I’m going to push to do 3 pages next week. If I’d stuck to the two strips a week schedule through December and January, we should be at 104 at the end of the year. So, doing one extra to end up at 100 isn’t too bad.
Awww…sad story!
Love that first double panel shot.
Thanks!
The second panel is really powerful for me. So much captured in four words. Nicely done. (And I like how you’re avoiding giving the whole story now, but I do hope we learn it eventually.) Definitely enjoying Thorton’s tale thus far.
It’s not every day one’s family is executed.
Let’s hope not!
Typo in frame 4: “The offical at the docks”
On it.
Darn it! Anniversary-o-mania just as I’m leaving! Oh well. See you in a couple weeks, guys.
I wonder what their old names were. still, I like Elias and Thorton Nickelby.
Yes, please tell us shawn!
Irone is such a lovely place
Thorton’s real name wasn’t used for a VERY long time in the game, so Shawn might make you wait awhile
Yeah, kind of like Klaudius’s name or the existance of MV#3, it might come up earlier in the comic.
LETS HAVE A CLOCKWORKS PARTAAAY!!! I’m going to go in costume as Private Stevens! hahaha!
I’ve been reading for a while, but it’s my first time saying anything. I also loved what you did with the First/Second Panel.
Danke!
