I’m finally back to work at putting together the Clockworks Savage Worlds Setting. I have a ton of old notes and things spread across random documents, blog posts, and the wiki, and now I’m finally going to compile everything in to what will one day be the Clockworks RPG book. I’ve decided to do it in a series of public google docs, keeping with the setting’s Creative Commons status. These will stay up even after the game is available for sale. Right now you guys can comment but not edit. I want to get my own version of Clockworks down before I let a ton of hands poke and prod at it.

Right now all of the docs are pretty empty, but the framework is there. Expect blog posts here when things are updated.

Not much in the way of content yet, but at leas the outline is all in there.

Awesome! I am eager to help in any capacity!

If you need my help for anything, let me know. Clockworks is still pretty fresh in the mind…well, at least the Thorton angles, along with some of the Caile angles :)

If you want to help with anything in the setting, that would be rad, since you know it pretty well.

I actually have a pretty major job for you in mind. Once we get to the mechanics, I want you to try and find all of the stuff that’s thoroughly exploitable and broken, so I can make sure that there aren’t any major loopholes that allow one character to grossly overpower the others. I figure this is the perfect job for you. ;)

Just added a Facebook group for the design and development. Feel free to join if you’d like to get as behind the scenes as humanly possible.

Are you going to put some things from the clockworks wiki?

    • Shawn says:

I’ve already referenced the wiki a couple of times, but my plan is to write almost everything new.

One nice thing though, because the book is open via Creative Commons, you can literally copy and paste the entire thing in to sections of the Wiki. That does remind me though, we should really add the CC license to the wiki. If you feel like adding it go for it, otherwise I’ll do it sometime soon.

This isn’t really on-topic, and I may feel regretful afterwards, but, even after writing an ultra-excited e-mail, and talking to my bro, and waving my arms around like a crazy person, I still am not calm. So I’ll just write it here, and then I’ll go back to writing. I don’t care if nobody reads this, or if it’s deleted or whateva, i just want to write it again, and know that it is true.
I’m writing my last act, I’m at 20,000 words, I actually know where the story is going, I’ve been writing this blasted script since before I started reading Clockworks, and after I write this I can go and write the story I’ve been wanting to write since December. So, SQUEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am semi-calm now. And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to complain about anything a writer/webcomic-er produces. Thank. You. So much. Now Onwards! To adventure! (and sleep deprivation!)
