Ah, Thorton. (shakes head) Yeah. Poor Toby. No, poor Eva. Poor everybody! This is what happens when you lose The Chick, no matter how temporary.
Toby. Aww…. :33
Ophelia’s near death experience didn’t quite play out like this in the original game, I took some artistic liberties to help the story along and to capture that moment of panic as she’s making rolls to not die.
Yay! So glad to have Ophelia talking again. You had us on cliffhanger for AGES, Shawn.
@Shawn: BTW, if I just spent the past hour and a half making a Clockworks/50 Fathoms spell list formatted for word and organized by element and rank, with all the substitute flavor text and effects for the different elements, do you want it? Could serve as substitute material on 04 until you get around to writing the official version.
Just finished reading through the comic, and I’ve got to say, absolutely kick-ass.
I feel bad for Oliver. I’m sure he’ll claim he decided to take himself to the hospital, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Eva and Thorton couldn’t get along well enough to take him there.
“Guys? Help? Comrade bleeding heavily…? Ah, screw this, I’ll do it myself.”
To be fair, she was only mostly dead, not all dead. And if the Princess Bride has taught me anything, it’s that there’s a big difference between the two.
Awesome! I’ll probably be putting one up as my profile picture n DeviantArt. Which is also TaraSwanwing. Hopefully I can get the picture/s uploaded sometime today. :33
(OK. Or maybe I did not recognize Toby when he is out of his armor.)
And here I was hoping for the trope where the “dead” comrade is captured by an upper boss. Someone oily and boastful. “No one will be able to resist…”
Our protagonist then escapes, allowing the team to stop the evil plot.
Shawn! Where’d you go? We were going good there for a bit and now it’s been 2 weeks without an update. Hasn’t been that bad for me because #SandySucks and I’ve been out of power this whole time, but still!
On another note, I made Clockworks characters with my group yesterday.
Last week’s delay was work. Then I completely rewrote the script for 141. This week was wrist injury and then food poisoning. Comic is drawn, I just need to scan it in and color it. If not today then definitely tomorrow.

Man, roleplaying that out must have been depressing as hell. Diggin’ the way minimal cartoon Toby in the bottom right turned out.

Gotta love Toby for his candidness. (^_^)

Thanks for the new comic, Shawn!

Ha!
I tended to go off and be secretive sometimes, so I suspect this was one such instance
IIRC you were at like -2 or -3 Wounds and just left to go to the hospital after the fight.
Like a cat…they go off alone when they’re hurt. D’awwww…
“Take that Jesus. I heal people, FLY on water and respawned in half the time. Boya.”

Oh the aftermath of deadly encounters. It always takes a toll on the party.
Wait a sec…since Eva’s usual response to anger is shouting, then for her to not be speaking to Thorton…she is-
“Party unity!”

All is well that ends well.
I think it’s awesome that this entire comic is based off of an RPG experience.
Finally caught up. Maybe now I can sleep. AWESOME payoff for me. Thanks for the the ride!
I was Eva for Halloween! It was amazing. Definitely made up for the lack of candy. :33
I demand pictures!
Also, I think this officially makes you the first Clockworks cosplayer. Cheers!

It’s up! :33

Heh. That happened in New Dawn.

Ouch, man. Rough. Get better first. Don’t mind us. Without Shawn there is no Clockworks, so Shawn first, comic second.
Well wishes.
Any chance I could ask where you get your textures from?
The backgrounds in Clockworks are almost entirely cobbled together from images from http://www.cgtextures.com/
I honestly have no idea where the scratchy grunge layer that I use on this (and most other newer pages) came from.
