Emboldened by Amanda Palmer’s blog post, here’s a bit more about this weekend’s mini donation drive:
I have spent a ton of money getting ready for this weekend, my first real Con as a Webcomic Artist Guy. I could really do with saving the money to reup hosting for this site, especially this weekend now.
There will probably be 1,200 of you reading the comic today. If 1 in 10 of you donate $1, I am set. Surely, you have a Paypal with $1 sitting in it. (Hell, if everyone in the Facebook fan page donates $1 that would do it.)
Whoever donates the highest amount between now and Monday morning (8 am Central) will win a walk on cameo in a future comic. At least one panel, either you or your favorite rpg character. Your cameo will appear during the month of October, and may or may not have any dialogue.
(The current winning bid is $2. Do I hear $3?)
As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, I’ll be at Archon this weekend. I’m going to try and get as much done on Tuesday’s comic while I’m at the booth. Stop by and say hi. I’ll have stuff available for sale, and sketches will always be free.
I’m sure I’ll have a blog post next week with a recap and my thoughts.
Conspiracy is a monthly fetish/goth/whatever event in St. Louis. January’s Conspiracy will be the Sexy Steampunk Social. The date hasn’t been finalized, but in all likelyhood will be January 16th. You want to be there. If you want to be involved, contact Carrie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
See some of you this weekend, and I’ll be back here Monday to announce the winner of the cameo, and Tuesday for another new comic!
Edit to add: The Webcomic Readers Choice Awards nominations are now open. If you have a favorite steampunk/fantasy webcomic starring a giant orange troll, you should perhaps go and nominate it.
